We arrived early at Coolangatta airport..while waiting for Joan to come, we walked around the airport and took some pictures. One hour later, Joan and her husband, 优强 (恰好优强放假) came and picked us to the hotel. After checking in, 优强suggested to take us to Brisbane (about 1 hour from Gold Coast) for lunch and drop by their house for a rest, before getting ready for Australian Outback Spectacular at night. Sounded like a plan!
We often hear that Australia has very good Vietnamese food, as many Vietnamese migrated there..so 优强 took us to a Vietnamese restaurant at Brisbane China Town. We had the beef noodle, pineapple fried rice and the vegetable roll.
After lunch, we went to their house. 优强 has been working in Brisbane for many years. Joan and their son migrated here 2 years ago. They bought a 2nd hand house here and life seem to be good for them. We chit-chatted and met their son, Ryan, who had just came back from school. I still remember before Ryan came over to Brisbane, he
was a little worry that he won't be able to adapt well, mainly because his English is poor..but today, when we saw him and asked how's life, how's school, whether he wish to go back to Malaysia..He shook his head and say NO..seemed that he likes it here and had already became Australian! LOL..优强 & Joan are a very committed Christian..They open up their house for fellowship, and mainly targeting on Chinese who has migrated/working/studying in Australia.
Later in the evening, 优强 fetched us back to GC, and he was so kind that he dropped us at the Australian Outback venue..really grateful for them.
Australian Outback Spectacular (entrance fee: AUD89.10/pax) is one of the HIGHLIGHT of GC tourism..Mark was the one that suggested us to go for this..though its kinda expensive but I guessed its w
orth the money ler..Basically, it is an evening dinner show presented by R.M.Williams, filled with outback music, drama and action! Nightly, from Tuesday to Sunday*, the 1000 seat enclosed arena, features a one and a half hour extravaganza including a sumptuous three-course Aussie BBQ dinner and drinks as well as a free Stockman’s hat! No photography or video is allowed inside the arena..too bad.
We both had a wonderful night..
