Finally, the day has came and passed..I am married to Mark for 2 weeks..and everything is still beautiful and sweet..We had came back from our honeymoon trip too and Mark has gone back to Kulim as he is starting work tomorrow..I am now staying with my in-laws in berkeley.
Our wedding celebration was really great..everything ran smoothly, with many helps from our family members, relatives, friends, church members..and most importantly, God is great and faithful, He answered our prayers..the weather was extremely good, no rain at all.
Go get the bride
I woke up at 6am, to get myself ready..the make-up artist came around 7am and one by one, my ji mui/relatives also arrived..everyone is so excited..the Ji Muis were busy preparing their 'special gift' for the Heng Dais..
Mark and his teams came around 830am..believe it or not, he had about 17 Heng Dais..I only have 6 Ji Muis..but nevertheless, my Ji Muis did a good job and managed to knock them down..haha..after about 5 games, Mark finally got the permission to enter the room to get me!
We had tea ceremony at my house before departing to church at 1015am..oh ya..uncle Fook Lim was the 'transporter'..really happy that he agreed to drive the wedding car and he was really a humorous uncle!
Church Wedding ceremony
We arrived early in church..I was waiting patiently inside the church library and Albert, our photographer was trying to get few shots of me..the ceremony started on time, sharp at 11am..After a short welcome speech from Rev Yeo, the walk in music started to play..First came the ring bearer, flower girls, bridemaids and last came the bride, with my uncle beside me, taking me down the aisle..I cant describe my feeling, how happy and excited I am..especially seeing so many of our relatives, friends, colleagues, church members attending our church wedding ceremony..
Mark and I were glad that we managed to pronounce the marriage vow with confident..we also had 2 special performance from my church members and choirs! They sang tremendously well! After the performance, we both went up to the altar and it was supposed to be a surprise to all our guests..we decided to say a few words to the guests, especially to our parents, thanking them for their constant care and love..It was really a touching moments for both Mark & I and our parents.
We had a photography session before the lunch reception..I used to attend many church weddings and I personally enjoyed the photography sesisons..seeing the lovely newly wed, taking pictures with all their loved ones..and today, it was my turn! I think we had about 160 guests and we were overwhelmed! Their presence really made our day even more special!
During the lunch reception, my CG members decided to give a pop quiz to Mark, wanting to know how much he knows about me..and I think he did well..he got most of the questions right! We managed to catch up with some friends during lunch, and snaps a few photos as well..before we went back to Mark's place, I was asked to throw the bridal hand bouquet to all the ladies who are single! and my colleague, Alice, managed to get it!
Wedding dinner
There was another tea ceremony in Mark's house..we managed to rest for an hour before getting ready for the wedding dinner on that night..It was held at Centro Imperial ballroom and we were expecting around 750+ guests! Many people were shocked when they heard about the large number of guests, hehe..
The hall was nicely decorated..each table had a heart shaped helium balloon..idea suggested by my church friend..and it turned out to be really nice..we also engaged a live band to sing throughout the night..Mark's sister, It Ee and my CG member, Amy, were the emcee for that night and both did a good job! I also handmade a doorgift for each guest and hopefully they loved it..
Program of that night:
Welcoming the newly wed
Opening prayer by Pr John Lee
Dinner served
Slideshows on childhood, done by Donny Lee
Performance from live band, special guest
Toasting, speeches from Mark's dad and us
Yum Seng session
Though it was a tiring night, but we both felt so touched and happy to see all our guests that night..thank you for all the wonderful blessings!
