wow..long time didn't blog..after exam, been so busy with works, church ministries etc..however, days been quite smooth and pretty well..
I had started to attend Dale Carnegie classes..not too bad..better than what I expected..On the first class, the attendance wasn't good..only 10 of us, of which 4 were observers..thus, the trainer just gave us an overview of module one..in another words, instead of 12 classes, it will be extended to 13 classes..last week, 21 of us in the class..and it was interesting..the trainer was very energetic, expressive and even more excited than the participants..He called himself the 'Dale Carnegie' people..and each one of us would eventually become one of them too...haha..
We had a fun time..we learnt few methods on how to remember things, especially remembering names..Dale Carnegie once said, "Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language"..yes, I truly agreed and thanks to my parents for giving such a lovely name..Ai Leng..though it is a very common Chinese name..I always told my friends..if you shounted my name in the middle of Petaling Street, probably you will see more than 5 people responding to you..haha..and one thing that I am very particular of my name is the spelling of it..its A I L E N G..not A I L I N G or I R E N E..though they sounded quite the same..but its just not the same..
and then, we were asked to put some association to our name in order for others to remember our name well..for eg, there's a girl in the class named Julia...so she said.."do you watch 'Pretty Woman', the movie..Julia Roberts was the main actress..and my name is Julia.."so as for mine.."the 'Ai' in mandarin meant LOVE..and who do you usually say I Love You to? To your darling right..so my name is Ai Leng.."pretty easy isn't it...
for the second class..we learnt on the first 9 principles on How to win friends and influence others (please refer to my previous posting on the principles of DC)..we were are asked to pair up and to share which is the strongest and weakest point of us from the 9 principles..my partner reckon that I had a great smile..and it was indeed beautiful..what a pleasure..and I personally felt that I am a good listener at all times..weakest point...can't really think of any..hehe
I had to leave earlier on the second class as I am going to Singapore tonight..yippie...As I was on my way home in the train..something interesting happened..as usual, it was after working hour and the train was pretty much crowded..especially inside the train, I was sandwiched..suddenly, a malay guy who was standing beside me, he talked to me..asking me my name, where from, job etc...out of politeness, I had casual chats with him..and what freaked me was that he asked, "have you been to Sabah? Where do you plan to go? I can accompany you.."wow...unexpected..luvkily, he was going down at the Shah Alam station..else..it would be very uneasy ride for me...
alright...wait for my blog on Spore trip..gonna be exciting..
